Musée historique de l'île de Wight

A 60' hippies The three Isle of Wight Pop festival stand out in the memory of many. The last, in 1970 attracted in audience of nearly 500,000 people to Afton Down to hear Jimmy Hendrix, The Who, The Doors and the other rock band. Three pounds bought a J day Festival Ticket. The programme is a valuable souvenir of the event. Pop festival were one of the feature of the flower power culture of the late 1960's early 1970's. Hippies were recognisable throught long hair, brightly coloured clothes and distinctive jewellery such as the string and bead bracelet, head bead neklass and glass vial pendant filled with flowers.
